Startups. The buzzword in the business industry. With India’s ease of doing business only getting better, cool startups in India that aim to solve varied problems are growing at the speed of light.

After Shark Tank India became such a hit, the focus on cool startups in India has once again intensified, the show has inspired many potential entrepreneurs to take the leap.

In Jan 2022, India became the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world. In 2021, a record 41 startups attained unicorn status. About 61,400 startups are recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), with at least 14,000 recognised during2022 – fiscal year.

In this article, we want to talk about some of the cool startups in India. Before we do that, hear what Mr. Bushnell has to say.

This startup is all about the power of voice-AI used to transform customer experiences (think call centres for customer care). Their product ‘VIVA’ can have human-like conversations with the customers that can be personalised contextually. Skit has clients like Axis Bank, Barbeque Nation, Microsoft etc.

VIVA is trained on machine learning algorithms created after analysing 10 million hours of data. It can converse in 20 languages and 160 dialects using speech recognition and natural language.


Despite all the cities in India that the country is famous for, it still has over 70% of its population residing in rural areas. In these areas, there is a lack of facilities — especially lack of access to credit which leads to taking loans from moneylenders at heavy interest rates.

Coine targets people from the lower economic category giving out loans ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹30,000. It has also streamlined end-to-end digital lending processes by using fintech in multiple aspects.


Much like its name this food-delivery startup is for those who are fond of great quality, even elegant food cooked by chefs themselves. Fine food, healthy and nutritious. A boon for those who don’t want to go to a fancy restaurant to eat and still want to treat their tastebuds. Hola Chef is currently functioning only out of Mumbai.
